Hi my name is Rebecca
I love interior design and creating things for my home. Nearly everything in it is upcycled and rehomed from things I have found on eBay, Gumtree or my newly found time waster, Facebook Market page.

I also have a large collection of Homepride Freds (the man with the bowler hat) which I have been collecting for 10 years! I enjoy photography when I have time and especially love photographing landscapes and sheep and cows.
People always ask me, what made me decide to become a counsellor? Well here’s my story: My Daughter was diagnosed at eighteen months with Cerebral Palsy. I struggled with the diagnosis, as all of a sudden someone was telling me that my baby was not perfect anymore. I put on a brave face for everyone but inside I was not OK. I did not have counselling and although I had family and friends, I did not want to appear weak when I wanted to be so strong. I didn’t want people to see how scared I felt.
I do not want anyone to have to hold inside, all those emotions like I did. I want to be there for someone when they feel alone, confused, sad, lost, depressed, anxious or feeling suicidal.
I have worked for the NHS nursing for the past seven years so I have offered emotional support to people experiencing trauma as well as facing life changing conditions. I have also been qualified in massage for twenty years and have run my own holistic salon.
I have counselled clients from the age of 17 to the age of 92. They have brought issues ranging from needing support at university to suffering from domestic abuse and divorce. I also have experience working with clients with ADHD and also on the autistic spectrum.
I am a counsellor at the Leonardo Trust (counselling for carers). It gives the carer a chance to explore their feelings, including their relationship with the person they care for. I help the carer to find their own solutions and make decisions about their life.
I am a Registered Member of the MBACP, and adhere to the BACP’s Ethical Framework, which means I am committed to working safely, ethically.
